Researching Australian Land Records

This practical course will help you understand how land was acquired, transferred and recorded in eastern colonial Australia — and, importantly, how to follow the documentary trail it created. Learn how to move beyond individual records to trace land from Crown grant to title deed, using the records, finding aids and research strategies that can reveal far more about your ancestors and the land they occupied.

This pilot program is being offered at a special introductory price ahead of the full course launch in 2027. In return, we’ll be asking participants to share their feedback to help us refine the course for its future release.
